Customer

The customer of the project was the owner of a retail brand clothing chain from Australia.

Objectives

In these days and age when the information technologies are widely used and develop rapidly, a new form of commerce - the so called e-commerce – propose a brand new alternative for the data submission, great stock turn and large-scale volumes of sales. Internet marketing combines the advantages which are traditional methods of marketing are unable to access.

These are:

  1. 24/7 functional availability
  2. smaller product cost due to the reduce of costs on the rent of premises and employees’ salaries, etc.

The customer wished to increase the client base using a relatively reasonable marketing system for the reason of which perfectly matched the e-commerce development. The customer chose our company as his project partners and developers. The website supposed to fully meet all the needs of end users and additionally perform functions for attraction and keeping of clients, such as:

  2. brand and style sorting
  3. informing and notification of users about new arrivals
  4. searching
  5. FAQ
  6. “comments and suggestions” box
  7. site map
  8. CMS
  9. production presentation
  10. production dynamic preview
  11. shopping cart
  12. account
  13. customer service center

The development process included several stages. As the customer provided our team with the technical requirements with the description of the main functionality, we suggested him to make the e-commerce on CommerceBox, which supposed to be Drupal CMS-based. We came to the decision after the joint negotiations concerning thorough analyses of the requirements were held.

At the design development stage, which supposed to be the most important within the project, two system architects were involved. Our team spent much time over the details to make sure that the system was implemented in accordance with the customer’s requirements.

As the design was finished and approved we got to its realization. Two senior Drupal-developers, SEO-specialist and Content manager were engaged in the process of development. All the efforts were monitored and controlled by the project manager.

After the final tests were held, some minor alterations within the code and design for better look-and-feel were made.

The following functionality was implemented on the website:

  1.  Shopping cart. The clients could order the chosen items, monitor its status, or change the chosen items in case of mismatching.
  2. Notifications. Users received e-mail notifications of new arrivals. A special calendar script was developed which enabled users to make memos. Besides, considering the previous shopping history users received notifications of the related items arrivals.
  3. Production presentation. The item could be seen from different angles, in different colors and size. The charts with European, American and British measurements were also viewed on the website.

Results

As a result, the customer obtained aesthetic, reliable and carefully made website equipped with a user-friendly back-end which performed its functions perfectly as it had been planned.
